foster care survival kits
During the Stay-at-Home order given in response to the
COVID-19 pandemic, foster families are facing a uniquely difficult challenges. Foster Care Survival Kits are care packages full of toys, games, snacks, and overall encouragement to families who have children from foster care in their home during the shut down.
the Business impact
VKB's Business Impact Program (which includes our LifeGuide Project!) equips businesses of all kinds to engage in ending the foster care crisis in their community. VKB provides individual coaching to each business, showing them how they can do the most social good simply by doing what they already do best as a business.
storychangers
The StoryChangers program utilizes the creative sphere of the community to change the story of children, families, and workers in Virginia foster care through media. Through videography, photography, journalism, and more, we partner with creatives across the commonwealth to change the narrative of so many stories heading towards a dark end.
the belong initiative
The BELONG initiative empowers and equips faith communities of Virginia to connect with and serve their local foster care departments in ways that promote deep relationships and lasting, positive change for everyone involved.
dreammakers
The DreamMakers program links the greater community with specific, tangible needs for children, older youth and families in and around the VA foster care system. From short term daycare support to temporary housing, VKB serves as a bridge between caring individuals and families in need of temporary, critical support.
